Courthouse Fish Market, which opened in 1912 on Cambridge Street, closed on Saturday, Jan. 13, a post on the market’s website said.

The Damaso family wrote:

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your years of support and patronage at the fish market. … We sincerely thank you for your years of unwavering support and patronage. While the fish market bids farewell, we are excited to inform you that our restaurant will continue to serve you with the same dedication to quality and excellence.”

The Courthouse Seafood Restaurant next door, which opened in 1987 and is also owned by the Damasos, remains open.

Regulars raved about the seafood options on the menu.

“I tried the fish and chips and the crab roll. Both were excellent. I left feeling stuffed and happy,” one Yelp reviewer said.

The East Cambridge restaurant is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
